The identification of the species of bird involved in wildlife strike is important in the prevention of future bird strikes. Using DNA analysis, advancements in technology has allowed us to be able to identify bird species from blood and tissue samples left behind in wildlife strikes. By identifying the bird species this allows the development of prevention schemes to reduce the number of bird strikes.
